Life adapts. When people hear adapt, they usually think of settling, like you're accepting less than what you wanted. But for me, living with MS and using a wheelchair, I've learned adapting is not giving up. It's taking your power back.
There was a season where I measured my life by what I'd lost. That grief is real. But every tool, habit, and workaround I've picked up since has given something back. My chair didn't take away my freedom. It gave me range. The right tools didn't make me less capable. They kept me in the game.
If you're facing changes you didn't ask for, I won't insult you with toxic positivity. This stuff is hard. But different doesn't automatically mean worse. It just means new rules.
I've stopped asking "Why can't I do it like before?" Now I ask, "What's another way I can get there?" That single shift opened this site, my advocacy, and honestly a fuller life. Welcome to The Adapted Life, where we're not waiting for normal. We're building what works
